Your formation determines position slots. Each formation supports three play styles — defensive, balanced, and offensive — that shift how the simulation weights attack versus defence.

Play Styles

Defensive

Prioritises clean sheets and compact shape. Best when your draft leans on a world-class goalkeeper and centre-backs.

Balanced

Default setup for most drafts. Neither extreme — reliable for mixed-quality squads.

Offensive

Pushes numbers forward. Choose when you draft four elite attackers and accept midfield risk.

4-3-3

Balanced attack

Strong default. Three forwards maximise goal threat; midfield trio supports both defence and attack. Best when you draft elite wingers and a top striker.

4-4-2

Classic balance

Two strikers and a flat midfield. Reliable structure for mixed-quality drafts. Good if you land two high-rated forwards early.

4-2-3-1

Creative midfield

One striker with three attacking midfielders behind. Excellent when you draft playmakers like Messi, Maradona, or Özil-type players.

4-2-4

All-out attack

Four forwards — maximum firepower but thin midfield. Only choose if your draft delivers multiple S-tier attackers.

3-5-2

Midfield control

Five midfielders dominate possession. Two strikers still threaten. Works well with strong central midfield picks including VOL, MC, and MEI roles.

5-3-2

Defensive solidity

Five at the back with three midfielders and two forwards. Prioritise quality centre-backs and a world-class goalkeeper.

4-5-1

Midfield wall

One lone striker supported by five midfielders. Best when you secure one elite forward and solid midfielders.

3-4-3

Wide attack

Three forwards with wing-backs providing width. Aggressive setup for high-rated attacking drafts.
